| As John Paul Returns from His 99th Trip: What Is the ‘Pope of the Millennium’ Really Up To? |
||||||||||||||||||
| As John Paul II returns home to Rome from his unprecedented 99th trip abroad, we wanted to take this opportunity to examine what the “Pope of the Millennium” is really up to as he continues — by the grace of God — to lead the Church in the most dangerous times. Times as dangerous as when the Church was persecuted from without. Now it seems, we have come full circle and the persecution of those who believe in the orthodox Traditions handed down by the Saints seem to be persecuted more from within than without. In this regard, we can only pray that the news that John Paul II is preparing to lift the “restrictions” on what is commonly called the “Tridentine Mass” is completely true. The fact that there are ANY “restrictions” on this Mass tells the story of why the Church is losing its interior spiritual battle. In fact, not only should the Tridentine Mass be relieved of any so-called “restrictions,” but the St. Michael prayer, composed by Pope Leo XIII, should be reinstated at the end of every Mass as well, preceded by the traditional three Ave Marias! So what is the “Pope of the Millennium” up to as he continues to spiritually guide the faithful in a dangerous sea of temporal politics? For the man who consecrated the 3rd Millennium to the Immaculate Heart of Mary on October 8, 2000 in the Great Jubilee Year, we believe the best way to analyze John Paul’s actions is to quote a man who was not only a great historian, but may have had a touch of the gift of prophecy as well. As one who knew the Vatican well, it is this man’s words we quote with great respect as we continue to watch John Paul II, who — according to the Will of God — is now the fourth-longest reigning pontiff in Church history. This prophetic statement was made of John Paul in 1990, nine years after the pope, in a vision, experienced the “Miracle of the Sun” that occurred in 1917 at Fatima while he was in the hospital recuperating from an assassination attempt in 1981. As we look again at this statement, and the fact that John Paul II continues to be a walking miracle, it seems even more relevant than when it was written 13 years ago: |

| “He is a pope who is waiting. That is the essence of his action. And in the meantime, he is busy in all the highways and byways along which the men of his age are moving helter-skelter. … He is waiting … for an event that will fission human history, splitting the immediate past from the oncoming future. It will be an event on public view in the skies, in the oceans, and on the continental land masses of this planet. It will particularly involve our human sun … . But on the day of this event, it will not appear merely as the master star of our so-called solar system. Rather, it will be seen as the circumambient glory of the Woman whom the Apostle describes as ‘clothed with the sun’ and giving birth to ‘a Child who will rule the nations with a scepter of iron.’ … John Paul’s waiting and watching time will then be over … .” Father Malachi Martin The Keys of This Blood ‘Come, Lord Jesus’ and Reign on Earth as You do in Heaven! |
