| The Olympic 'torch' ... | |||||||||||||||||||
| This Sunday, as we celebrate Divine Mercy, the Orthodox will celebrate Easter. While the Church is broken in two, both the East and West once lived in the blessing of unity. But now, it is difficult for most people of the world to accept the faith that once was Universal. Most don't even believe we are in a spiritual battle. But once we understand that we truly are in a Great Spiritual Battle, the most important thing we must acknowledge is that this war is fought in many guises. Particularly, the battle rages in signs, symbols and words. That is why we hold no punches in discussing controversial news. The pen truly is, as it is stated, mightier than the sword. In the battle that rages around us, we must also take into account the fact that Jesus — in proving His Resurrection — has also proven that it is He, and He alone, who has told us the Truth. As we state in the introduction to those new to our web site, that means we have an enemy. And Jesus specifically calls our enemy the “father of lies.” As such, the father of lies, as we know from the Scriptures, is at an extreme disadvantage with God. For God is the Creator and can create anything out of nothing anytime He desires. The evil one, on the other hand, cannot create; he can only mimic, and, therefore, must rely totally on God. The devil is limited to only being able to do a “takeoff” of the Lord’s Handiwork. This is where the protest-ants get so confused. The evil one has spent 6,000 years of history mimicking the Kingdom of God by giving us false idols and stories to substitute for the real ones. So every time Mary is mentioned as the Queen of Heaven and Earth, right away, protest-ants see this in the light of mythology which the evil one has used to confuse, deceive and blind mankind. If there is anyone who should know who the King and Queen of Heaven and Earth is, it most certainly is the evil one — the one who fell like lightening from Heaven! In this light, what we are about to discuss must be seen not as a condemnation, but as a spiritual eye-opener. Something we hope will take the “blinders” off so many of us as we do not comprehend — in all its subtleties — this hidden spiritual battle. As a perfect “for instance,” mankind, not being satisfied with how God has placed this planet in its daily rotation, has tampered with time. At first, it was done in World War I, then again in World War II, and now, finally, it has become a standard aspect of the American landscape. We are talking about daylight-saving time. Now before everyone out there goes, “Wow, I knew you guys were nuts,” we are not in anyway stating that daylight-saving time is “evil” or “wrong.” We are just trying to point out a subtle change in everyday lives that we all have accepted and that actually makes a large impact in the spiritual world. What is the impact? Those of us who believe in the Divine Mercy “Hour” are not — if we are praying according to our daylight-saving time clocks — working at the right hour. We are, of course, an hour early. Again, please do not get us wrong. This does not mean that the Lord is not hearing our prayers — and answering them! We are just trying to point out how subtle the evil one gets us distracted from the reality of spiritual Truths; something the fallen one always wants to do. In this subtle change of our clocks so that we are not praying at the true Divine Mercy Hour, perhaps our prayers don’t pack as much punch as they might if we were, instead, saying them exactly at God’s 3 o’clock hour — the time He requested their recitation. Of course, there is a simple way out of this and that is to pray at the daylight-saving hour of 4:00 p.m., which is truly God’s 3:00 p.m. The real key for us as we contemplate the Great Spiritual Battle is that those who are planning to be at Divine Mercy Feasts throughout the U.S. and say the Chaplet at the 3 o’clock Hour are not, in reality, going to be praying at the right time. Does it make a difference? Again, the Lord hears our prayers, but don’t you think He would be more pleased with us if we said our prayers at the real hour and not an hour of our choosing? Otherwise, Jesus would have said to St. Faustina there was no significance to Him regarding the Divine Mercy Hour. This oddity of time allows us to discuss what we originally stated about the evil one deceiving mankind in such subtle ways. And he does it again every four years. The evil one does it by having the world celebrate that pagan festival known as the “Olympics.” A pagan festival that was stopped by the Christian emperors of the Roman empire in honor of Christ the King before the end of the 4th Century. The Lord, who was mimicked by the evil one in the mythology of the Greek “gods” that were then adopted, in turn, by the old Roman empire, had, by the time of the 4th Century, thoroughly conquered. Instead of false idols depicting zeus or athena, etc., Temples were built to worship Jesus, honor His Mother and His friends, the Saints. The Family of God was universally recognized as opposed to the family of evil-inspired manmade gods. As part of the new Christian Empire, when the Church was truly One, one of the rituals that became a yearly tradition was the Easter Torch. Miraculously lit by a blue Light at the Tomb where Jesus lay, the inflamed Torch symbolized the Resurrection of Christ. That Torch was then carried by believers throughout the world to every major capital in Christianity. What do we have today? Nearly 1,500 years later, masons and other high-level members of “secret” societies (who still wield a lot of power whether we know it or not) — envisioning their “new world order” in a “universal brotherhood of man” ruled by a one-world government in a federation of “universal republics” on the back of the dead and dying “Universal Church” — reinstated the Olympics! Now, every four years, people from around the world willingly pick up the torch of the “gods” reviving the paganism of Greek mythology long defeated by God in the theocracy He created. (This is true, whether the people who participate in Olympic activities realize it or not!) But mankind did not want God’s Kingdom on Earth. Mankind has rejected God’s theocracy. While every year, the ritual at the Tomb during the Orthodox Easter is still adhered to, how many people know it? How many participate? How many cities willingly open their arms to those who carry this Torch? How many in the media report the event? How many Christians — let alone others — even care? There will soon be another “Olympic” year. People will know it. Millions will participate. Cities will throw themselves at participants who carry this torch. The media will be in a frenzy to report the event, especially the lighting of the torch in Greece. Many Christians — as well as others — will care who wins the various events and will want to be a part of the whole occasion. Again, we are not advocating that the Olympics are “evil” and should be “shut down” as they were for 1,500 years. We are not against athletes competing on a global scale to see who is the best. What we are against is the hypocrisy of a world — especially protest-ants — that cries Catholicism has “false idols” (such as statues of Mary) and involves “pagan” rituals. These are the very same “Christians” who then see nothing wrong with the torch of zeus encircling a globe in desperate need of its true King, Jesus! This is the deception of the evil one. The Truth is the true Church — the one with the full roots of the 1st-millennium Church — is the Universal Church, the one that was founded by Christ on the Rock of Peter. And it is the blazing Torch of Easter that will get us to Heaven. Not the false torch of the Olympics. May God have mercy on a world that places a statue of zeus in the lobby of the world’s governing body, the United Nations, and encircles the globe with a torch of paganism that the Lord thought He had long ago extinguished in favor of His flaming Heart! And may God have mercy on His Church, the separated brethren of the West, which is in desperate need of returning to the Traditions of the East; and the separated brethren of the East, which is in desperate need of recognizing Mary as the Immaculate Conception, the messages of Fatima and the Feast of Divine Mercy! O Blood and Water which gushed forth from the Heart of Jesus as a Fountain of Mercy for us, I trust in You! © 2003 Agnus Dei Presents! |
