Aliens, the Pope, the President, or …
Not because they are anything good, but because they are good for a good laugh.
One of our favorites is the Weekly World News.
They have had some incredible fantasy stories in them, and we well remember our favorite headline from them.
As an editor and writer — having worked for many years in many of the mainstream media of today — we always appreciate the imagination of the editors and writers at the Weekly World News.
Our favorite headline from them was at the height of the hostage crisis in 1979 as Iran — in its islamic fundamentalist revolution — had kidnapped American diplomats making a mockery of “diplomatic immunity” and the Carter administration.
The Weekly World News at the time had this to say about the incident in a front-page splash:
‘Ayatollah Khomeini Controlled by UFO Aliens!’
As they say, this headline says it all.
Well, the Weekly World News is at it again.
Interestingly, it is a tabloid that is owned by one Rubert Murdoch. An Australian who claims he is a “Catholic.” We, as Catholics, are always fascinated by those who follow the faith and then have the audacity to be involved in such activities as owning a tabloid newspaper.
Murdoch’s chain of global newspapers, which includes other publications such as the New York Post (originally founded by Alexander Hamilton), and the Times of London, sell more than 40 million copies a day! If the average newspaper price can be estimated at just around $1.00 — well, you get the idea how much dough is rolling in on a daily basis. This amazingly underestimated economic sum only calculates the holdings of Murdoch’s newspaper chains and does not include other media holdings of his, such as Fox cable news, as well as 20th-Century Fox TV and motion picture programming, etc.
As always, our caveat is that we are not Rubert’s judge — only the Lord Jesus is. And, as a human being, we can appreciate that “Mr. Down Under” has hired some pretty creative talent to ensure the success of his considerable holdings.
The amazing part for us, however, is how he, as a Catholic, allows such incredible stories to be promulgated before so many naďve people in our society. For, after all, somebody is PAYING to read this stuff!
While shopping this week, we picked up the latest Weekly World News because, again, of its front-page splash. It showed a picture of John Paul II with a wonderful Image of Jesus’ Holy Face based on the Shroud of Turin displayed on the pope’s headdress.
The headline was intriguing, as it stated that the pontiff, with 100 staff members, was getting ready to live in a nuclear-bomb-proof shelter on the Italian side of the Alps as Armageddon “approached.” The story was based on the belief that the upcoming war with Iraq was a precursor to the “end times.”
The pope, according to the Weekly World News, was getting ready to spend 60 days in this bomb-proof bunker until the return of Christ.
So, now, as we waited our turn in line, we were thoroughly engaged with enjoying the nonsense of the Weekly World News until the moment of Truth came, when, if we wanted to read anymore, we would have to purchase this worthless piece of paper.
But, oh, did we enjoy those few minutes of amazing free literature.
Did you know that, according to the Weekly World News, a pharmacist made a mistake in dialing some numbers and “actually” wound up calling osama bin dead’s private cel phone? Amazing, isn’t it? Our government can’t find hide or tail of the world’s most wanted man, but, in the Weekly World News, a pharmacist got through to the dead terrorist! Hope osama got his prescription filled!
This brings us to the most astounding — and blasphemous — story we have read in this tabloid in a long time. And that’s quite a feat considering how many bad stories they run every week.
This story showed a picture of that all-elusive alien — Roswell style — who seems to contact everyone on Earth but those in the media who can really publicize and prove their so-called “existence.”
But what struck us about this “alien” is what they were holding in their “hands.” It was a scroll, and on the scroll was Hebrew lettering!
According to the story and its headline, “Aliens Hold Title Deed to the Earth!”
This is such a takeoff and deception by the evil one as to exactly what the Truth is. That is why we are so amazed to see this story at this critical time in the Earth’s history. If you want to gauge where we are in the Great Spiritual Battle, always look to see what the enemy is up to. The closer it gets to the end, the more the evil one deceives by perverting the next phase in which God plans to unveil the Truth.
This is how the protest-ants get thrown off track so easily by the devil’s ploys. We laugh when they complain to us that the Lord’s Mother Mary is “worshipped as a goddess.” They have no idea how they, as protest-ers, are being deceived and playing right into the hands of the evil one. Mary, as any sane believer knows, is not a “goddess,” but the Queen of Heaven and Earth, who sits at the Right-Hand of Her Son, the King of Heaven and Earth!
The evil one is now trying a similar tactic with the propaganda as to who “owns” the title deed to the Earth. There is only One Person who holds the title deed to the Earth and the evil one knows it.
Only One who has the right to Reign over Jerusalem and all the Nations.
It is not an alien.
It is not the pope.
It is not George Bush.
It is not sad man insein.
It is not Tony Blair.
And it is not Sean Penn, Richard Gere, Barbra Streisand, the false “madonna,” or the dalai lama.
It is not — drum roll, please — even us.
Who is the One? You all know where we are going with this, but here is the proof from the Book of Apocalypse written by the Apostle John, the Lord’s “Beloved Disciple”:
“And I saw upon the Right Hand of Him who sits upon the Throne a Scroll written within and without and sealed with seven seals. And I saw a strong Angel proclaiming with a loud voice: ‘Who is worthy to open the Scroll and to break the seals thereof?’ And no one in Heaven [this means no “aliens,” Saints, “extraterrestrials,” or good Angels], or on Earth [this means no celebrities, politicians, religious leaders, or humans from any group], or under the Earth [this means no “fallen angels,” or dead human beings whether in Purgatory or hell] was able to open the Scroll or to look thereon. And I wept much, because no one was found to open the Scroll or to look thereon.
And one of the elders said to me, ‘Do not weep; behold, the Lion of the Tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has overcome to open the Scroll and its seven seals. And I saw, and behold … a Lamb standing, as if slain having … the Seven Spirits of God … . And He came and took the Scroll out of the Right Hand of Him who sat upon the Throne. …
“And they sing a new canticle, saying, ‘Worthy art Thou to take the Scroll and to open its seals; for Thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us for God with Thy Blood, out of every tribe and tongue and people and nation, and hast made them for our God a Kingdom and priests, and they shall reign over the Earth … . ‘Worthy is the Lamb who was slain to receive power and divinity and wisdom and strength and honor and glory and blessing.’ And every creature that is in Heaven and on the Earth and under the Earth, and such as are on the sea, and all that are in them, I heard them all saying, ‘To Him who sits upon the Throne, and to the Lamb, blessing and honor and glory and dominion, forever and ever.’ … ” Apocalypse 5:1-14.
This is fascinating to us. Many people can argue about the “Signs of the Times,” prophecy and the Second Coming of Christ.
We believe that a story like this in the tabloids is one of the greatest signs of this Truth that the event is about to happen — that the Lord’s return to Reign over the Earth with His Saints as written in the Book of Apocalypse is not far of. Most now might be laughing and think that we are ridiculous.
But we believe it is a sign as the deception itself is a prophetic Truth that stares every supermarket shopper in the face as they secure their necessary life-sustaining items.
It is also a sign in the fact that a tabloid run by a “Catholic” — someone of the true faith — has mocked the Lord Jesus as the Lamb worthy to hold the Scroll and, instead, has depicted an imaginary alien as the “title deed holder” to this planet! In fact, the story stated that the aliens are demanding we humans vacate the Earth before the year 2020!
These unbelievable and deceptive lies, which have their origin in the father of lies, truly make us believe, no matter what anyone else may think, that we cannot be far behind until the Day when the Lord MUST — for the sake of His own honor and glory before the Heavenly Court — TAKE ACTION! In fact, we're asking Him for that action!
For it is Agnus Dei, the Lamb of God, who holds the true Scroll and title deed to the Earth. It is, believe it or not, Jesus as the Holy Child who will “rule the nations with a rod of iron.”
Not an alien. Not a politician. Not a religious leader.
And if the evil one is that concerned that he is raising the noise level to make the unsuspecting and spiritually blind believe that it is someone other than Agnus Dei who owns the title deed to the Earth — such as pretend “aliens” — than we believe we cannot be far off from that moment when the Lord is about to ENFORCE His right to the Scroll and take possession of that which He has already won on the Cross.
We believe, as evident from the Scriptures themselves — when the devil offers Jesus all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time — that the evil one knows a lot more than we think he knows.
By monitoring the devil’s propaganda in such trash as the tabloids, we can ascertain this simple fact: the evil one is using one of the kingdoms of the world, the media, to try to fool mankind that someone else owns the deed to this planet other than Jesus. Someone, namely the “aliens,” who, as deceptive angels of light, doesn’t even exist.
There is no doubt that, as the world, through earth-shattering events, continues to change drastically, we all instinctually know we are getting close to something; some big event. Even the evil one knows it and is trying desperately to throw mankind off the track with false propaganda such as “aliens” holding the title deed to the Earth.
We, however, should not lose our hope nor faith — no matter what the tabloids or others might say or do. “Aliens” do not hold the title deed to the Earth; nor will they, nor any human being, save us.
At the same time, we need not have nuclear bomb shelters, nor duct tape, nor missiles to defend us. We need only to ask to receive.
We need to ask the One who owns the title deed to the Earth.
The One who is worthy to enforce the Scroll that He holds in His Hand.
Therefore, we do ask, beg, plead, and implore the Lord Jesus to make it quick, not delay, rescue us and Reign on Earth as He does in Heaven! Rescue us, Lord, from the liars, the politicians, the false beliefs of so many religions, and from the enemy of Your Mother.
Make “every creature that is in Heaven and on the Earth and under the Earth, and such as are on the sea, and all that are in them” say, “To Him who sits upon the Throne, and to the Lamb, blessing and honor and glory and dominion forever and ever”
Apocalypse 5:13.
These words of Scripture can never be fulfilled unless the Lord returns and enforces their fulfillment Himself so that all the world, a world desperately in need of Him, praises its Savior. A Savior who is praised not only because He has redeemed us, but because He has also rescued us from our own self-destructive weapons and leaders.
O Jesus, King of All Nations, in honor of Your Mother, the Queen of All Nations,
and the Queen of Peace, take up Your Scroll, enforce it and make Your Reign as Agnus Dei be recognized on Earth for the Glory of the Father, and of the Son and of the Holy Ghost!
