| As we turn our attention to the upcoming greatest event in the history of Christianity — the Resurrection of Christ — we will begin to take a journey that is overwhelming: the study of the Shroud of Turin. The study of the Shroud is known as “sindonology,” a word which stems from “sindone,” the Italian word for “shroud.” In this journey, we will explore the history and science that proves this ancient cloth is the burial Shroud of Jesus of Nazareth. * We will discuss how this cloth left Jerusalem and wound up in a city called Turin. * Why scientific research proves it is not a painting and how the Image is really formed. But to begin our journey, we want to start where most studies dare not to go. For it is not only in the realm of the laboratory that we will find the Truth of this cloth, but in how it has affected the lives it has touched. If this is indeed the Lord’s burial cloth, then there should be evidence for it beyond the standard scientific disciplines. The evidence should be manifested in the lives of those who were with the Lord, and, even in those, who, in later years, were canonized as Saints. Has the Shroud ever touched the lives of the Saints? If so, who was touched and how? In the days ahead, we will explore the answer to these questions and discuss a long list of famous names who have had a spiritual encounter with the Lord's burial cloth. It is a journey of historic and spiritual proportions. It is a journey embedded in the Great Spiritual Battle. It is a journey that proves the Shroud is Surrounded by Saints! In our first installment, we will discuss whether or not the Apostles interacted with this cloth. Join us as we begin this series. © 2003 Agnus Dei Presents! |
