| Lest We Forget: Who Do We Owe the Swiftness of Victory to Bush, the Troops or … ? |

| Of course we recognize the incredible human contribution that coalition forces have made to the liberation of Iraq. For every drop of blood spilled by American, British, Australian, or any other nationality to free the Iraqi people, we plead with God for mercy on their souls, peace and a place of eternal rest. We also recognize the incredible political gamble both George Bush and Tony Blair took to bring about, as the former Kuwaiti ambassador to the United States told CNN as sad man’s statues fell in Baghdad, a “New World Order.” But as the secular world celebrates this great victory over tyranny, we must not — especially as Rosary and Divine Mercy Chaplet warriors — forget Who we really should thank. It was March 21 when the bishops of Baghdad had the courage to consecrate the nation of Iraq to Mary as the Queen of Peace. We said that Her Son was “now on the hook” to listen to His Mother’s pleas for peace in that nation. And, as we have explained, before, we have to stop looking at time from our point of view and, instead, look at time from Heaven's point of view. It did not take long for Heaven to act. We must ultimately thank the Lord Jesus for finally allowing evil to be crushed by its own sword. And we must thank and bow to our Queen for Her ultimate victory and intercession for an end to the conflict in Iraq. In addition, those who took up the true arms of Victory, the Rosary and Divine Mercy Chaplet, must understand that these offerings gave Mary the necessary bargaining chips with Her Son to plea for Her children’s case. Will this be a perfect peace? Of course, not! How can it be? Syria has not been consecrated; Iran has not been consecrated; America has not been consecrated, etc., etc. Therefore, let us not put down our weapons of Victory for the need continues to be great and the days of danger still lie ahead as those with vengeance and hatred in their hearts will try to upset the liberation of the people of Iraq. It is not, as we continually love to point out, an accident: the consecration of Iraq to Mary ended this conflict sooner and with less casualties than most observers believed possible. In less than three weeks, Mary moved the Hand of Her Son, the King of All Nations. That is not the victory of George Bush, Tony Blair or the U.S.-led forces. That is a victory of Mary as the Queen of Peace. © 2003 Agnus Dei Presents! |
