| ‘The Passion’ Provokes Critical Questions |
|||||||||||||||||
| It is amazing how much controversy and discussion the Mel Gibson film has created. There is a simple explanation for this: it truly is because it is His Passion! We are at that crescendo of time — as Israel was in the 1st Century — as we, 2,000 years later, remove the 10 Commandments and continue the holocaust of aborted babies. In this, a crescendo of choices are being made regarding how one feels about the Lord’s Passion. Critical questions are being asked and critical decisions are being made, either by accepting Christ’s Passion or vehemently denying it. There are many reasons why people reject Jesus and it becomes easy to do so since we are 2,000 years from the time when people witnessed His miracles and Resurrection. In the “revisionist” history of secular humanism, no rejection can appear to be more logical than the simple fact that here He is — the King of the Universe — reduced to pulp on a Tree! It is the difference in Churches between those who put the Crucified Christ upon their Cross or remove Him in favor of a blank piece of wood. What kind of God is this that would allow Himself to be nailed to a Cross by those who should have recognized Him as their Messiah? (Recently, we answered a sarcastic letter that wanted to reduce Jesus to a mythological potpourri!) And remember, that while the Truth of the matter is it was the Romans who hammered in the nails, it was the political and religious leaders of Israel who brought Him before Pilate and handed “caesar’s friend” the nails on trumped up charges! And what kind of people are we — since every single human being, not just the “Jews” or “Romans” who Crucified Him — that we, in our continued sinfulness, put Him on that Tree? As anyone knows, these are not easy questions; in fact, they are everyone’s questions. In reality, the answers are not ours, they are His! In this regard, we continue to tell our visitors we love your mail! We love your questions. We love your challenges. And all of them are legitimate! We cannot emphasize enough how important it is to ask questions, not just of us, but of ourselves. For Truth-seekers, the answers can be found, not through us, but through Him! We only offer what we have learned on the long journey He has taken us — a journey that He ensured is anchored securely. An anchor that is a challenge to all, for when one gazes upon the Image of Christ on the Shroud of Turin, one, once again, makes choices regarding His Passion! As we have stated, only the individual can gaze upon the Face on this cloth and say “yes, it is Him,” or “no, it is not.” In each individual answer, we go full circle from the Alpha and the Omega of “critical questions” to “critical decisions”! In the light of this anchor, we want to try to answer some extremely important questions from an extremely intelligent person. A person who we respect because their letter was not sarcastic but genuine — from the heart — a true Truth-seeker. Their inquiries focus on our beliefs, but in reality, go to the heart of differences people have as to why and how they believe in God. The questions are directed to us as Catholics from someone who sincerely believes in God; one God. The first question asks if we “believe in the Millennium; i.e., that Yeshua will come again to Jerusalem and rule as Jewish Messiah for a Thousand Years?” We could not more emphatically answer, “YES!” If there is any absolute confirmation of this Truth without getting into Scripture, all one need do is look at the horrific condition of the Middle East. As we have stated so many times, there will never be any pope, president or world leader who will truly solve this problem. In fact, it will be the false “messiah” that will first come seemingly with the answer to this incredibly complex, centuries-old war. In terms of this, we are very suspicious that this false “messiah” may not be as blatant as many people have been led to believe, but may have already acted in subtle ways to fulfill this role; that, however, is another story. To answer the question, the true Messiah will return to His city and Reign over it and the nations for literally 1,000 years. This, for our Catholic brothers and sisters, is something contrary to Church teaching; something we are well aware of and vehemently disagree with. According to the current Catechism, the Church equates this belief, which it classifies as “millenarianism,” with these words: “The Antichrist’s deception already begins to take shape in the world every time the claim is made to realize within history that messianic hope which can only be realized beyond history through the eschatalogical judgment. The Church has rejected even modified forms of this falsification of the kingdom to come under the name of millenarianism, especially in the ‘intrinsically perverse’ political form of a secular messianism.” We know how difficult this fine line is, but we are willing to walk it. In the first instance, we must remember that the Catechism is not dogma, otherwise it could not be changed, as it was in the 1980s. And in this era, where the liturgy is reinvented with little or no regard for tradition, why can’t we, as Catholics, have an open discussion on millenarianism, something many of the early Church fathers believed and preached! But instead of returning to this teaching of the early Church, we hear the nonsense about singing immediately after Communion; or, even more laughable and tragic, the charismatic movement with its gobbledygook language, an innovation never known in the history of the Saints! Sadly, while all of this nonsense is tolerated, Mel Gibson is considered some sort of “fanatic” because he loves the Latin Mass and refuses to be associated with Mahony’s questionable legacy! A concern always for those who desire the status quo is that as time marches on, it is hard for mankind to maintain a focus of time without becoming discouraged. When people expect an imminent return and Reign and that does not take place within their lifetimes or expectations, faith can suffer and fall victim. In addition, we believe the Church, defending against the ever-increasing absurdity of protest-ant philosophy that began with the “reformation,” reached a crescendo and crashed with everyone awaiting the Coming of Christ from the false prophecies of 9/9/99 to the Y2K nonsense, is rightfully leery of any date-setting. Rightfully leery of any “political form of a secular messianism”; yet, the Church keeps running to the UN to solve every world problem! Perhaps, the Church should get on its knees and beg the Lord for His 1,000-year Reign rather than continue the farce with the UN! This concern of “millenarianism” takes on significant Truth in light of the fact that the early Christians, based on the statements of the Apostles, had many believing the time for the return of Christ was imminent. But as we have so often pointed out, the world overlooked the formula God gave us in regard to time and history from His viewpoint. A day is but a thousand years to the Lord and a thousand years but a day! In 2,000 years of history — two days to the Lord — the threat of “millenarianism” was real as generation from generation lost sight of the hope of the Coming in glory of Christ. ‘Millenarianism’ even reared its head in the Church in 999 A.D. when everyone believed, with the changing of the millennium, the end of the world was upon them. But that was before the 3rd Day; the 3rd Millennium! For it was not on the second day that our Lord rose victorious from the grave, but the 3rd! And we believe, as He told St. Faustina, and as He has had His Mother warn the world, the time of His return is soon. Indeed, if we truly claim to be believers in Divine Mercy, we can never, as Catholics, neglect the message Mary gave to St. Faustina on March 25, 1936: “I gave the Savior to the world; as for you, you have to speak to the world for the Second Coming of Him who will come, not as a merciful Savior, but as a Just Judge!” Diary, Divine Mercy in My Soul #635. Since that message was given on the Feast of the Annunciation, was not this a different, and perhaps, an even more profound Annunciation? That message is now 67 years old and for those who might question what Pope John Paul II’s stand is on this matter, who canonized Faustina? How long did it take the early Christians to recognize the Annunciation to Mary? How long will it take us to realize the Annunciation to Faustina? The problem in dealing with “millenarianism” once we get past the absurdities of protest-ant thinking, is that time of the return is not, as so many believe, the “end of the world,” but the coming Kingdom of Christ — Yeshua — on Earth as it is in Heaven! As the Book of Apocalypse clearly states, despite the Catechism, “And I saw seats; and they sat upon them; and judgment was given unto them; … and they lived and Reigned with Christ a thousand years. The rest of the dead lived not, till the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection. Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection. In these the second death hath no power; but they shall be priests of God and of Christ; and shall Reign with Him a thousand years” (chapter 20:4-6). Is this Reign of Christ and His Saints not pre the “eschatalogical judgment”? This is also obviously not the Reign of Christ as the Eucharist King, which some Catholic theologians point to as what is next on the horizon. Excuse us, but haven’t we already had the Reign of Christ as the Eucharist King the last two days — 2,000 years? Is this all we want of our Lord? Just a piece of His Heart? Or do want the whole of Him? His Sacred Heart Reigning not from inside a Tabernacle but with Glory from His Throne in Jerusalem! And are we, as Catholics, in our staunch stand against millenarianism aiding this return of Christ the King or delaying it? Are we praying for Christ’s 1,000-year Reign or are we blase in this regard, not caring, nor believing it can be so despite the claim we believe in the messages of Divine Mercy? This Christ who will Reign with His Saints is the very same Jesus who poured out His Divine Mercy for us after He lamented over the City of Peace: “Jerusalem, Jerusalem, that killest the prophets, and stonest them that are sent to thee, how often would I have gathered thy children as the bird doth her brood under her wings, and thou wouldest not? Behold, your house shall be left to you desolate. And I say to you, that you shall not see Me till the time come, when you shall say: ‘Blessed is He that cometh in the Name of the Lord!’ ” Luke 13:34-35. If we need proof that Jesus’ Words, recorded long before Israel’s rebirth as a nation, bespeaks of the time we are living in, these verses sow no doubt! As we have also stated so often, Israel is the key to His return; the recognition that the Lord — not the United States, the United Nations, or any other entity — can save the Jewish state from annihilation. We fervently believe, no matter how many lulls in the war there may be, or “peace” treaties signed, a la the “Oslo Accords,” this scenario when Israel’s back will be against the proverbial wall is not far off. Israel, we boldly proclaim, does NOT need a rapprochement with islam; Israel needs a rapprochement with its Messiah! Continuing in the frame of this question, it was stated that we “seem to believe in Divine Rule NOW, immediately replacing civil government, as opposed to later. Is not civil government necessary, even that which we would consider unjust, in order to keep the peace (read Genesis 4:15 carefully and see that imperfect but necessary civil government was ordained through the mark of Cain). Divine Rule at this time seems a bit unrealistic, although I keep an open mind … .” Again, we are grateful that the message we are trying to bring to all who believe in God is correctly pointed out: we are, indeed, begging, pleading and imploring with our great God and King for “Divine Rule NOW”! We have a simple thought as to why we want an IMMEDIATE replacement of all civil governments, “as opposed to later.” ALL CIVIL GOVERNMENTS THROUGHOUT THE WORLD ARE COMPLETE FAILURES! This is true whether they hide themselves under the absurd, false and misleading titles of “democracies” or socialist regimes. Their forms and the politicians who ascend to power in each and every one of them are more than just a joke; they are a danger to the continued welfare of the entire planet! Especially as this nation has let the proverbial nuclear genie out of the bottle. Or how about some more bio experiments by the CIA in the subway system of New York? (And don’t forget, while it took them 40 years to admit to this atrocity, we didn’t make this up! So if the CIA did that then, what are they doing now?) The failure of civil governments is deep: from the inability to control drug trafficking and organized crime (too many bribes?) to a justice system that not only fails to dispense justice, but actually focuses on making God, His Word and Laws a crime in our society! The sins of civil government are too numerous to mention and include an education system that is beyond being a farce. It is — from Europe to the United States — a legacy of more than 200 years of masonic action or, in some cases, purposeful inaction. And the cause behind it all is simple enough: it is, as Christ taught, the evil one who controls the kingdoms, and therefore, the governments of the world! There is, then, only ONE cure to this cancer that has metastasized: the 1,000-year Reign of Christ the King! In Genesis 4:15, the Lord states that “ ‘whosoever shall kill Cain, shall be punished sevenfold.’ And the Lord set a mark upon Cain, that whosoever found him should not kill him.” For the vengeance of Abel’s murder was not any human’s, it was the Lord’s! For the redemption of mankind was not any human’s, it was the Lord’s! And the greatest punishment Cain received for his evil act was that he should “be hidden from” the Lord’s “Face” (Genesis 4:14) and he “went out from the Face of the Lord … .” Genesis 4:16. A Face that could not be seen by mankind again until Christ walked the Earth. And a Face that was not properly seen again until the first photograph of the Shroud in 1898 — another telltale sign that the imminent return of Christ is near. Those who do not accept the Passion of Christ as seen on His burial cloth could find themselves, like Cain, banished from His 1,000-year Reign! (Do not take this to the extreme and equate it to eternal damnation; that is far too severe, but the consequences will be that rewards are taken away from those who cannot recognize Him and we can all be sure it is a reward to be among those who Reign with Him on Earth as He does in Heaven!) In the wake of Cain killing his brother and the civil government God established, mankind has barely kept the peace and, instead, spilled copiously the blood of its citizens, whether soldier or civilian. But God has not been idle since the “voice” of Abel’s blood cried to Him from the Earth. God has redeemed mankind. From the fruit of the tree, mankind fell; but from the Fruit of Mary’s Womb nailed to a Tree, mankind has been saved. What then should God’s next move be? If Cain continues to kill Abel in the Middle East, or anywhere else on this planet, should God remain idle as the “voices” of innocent blood cry out to Him from the Earth? And what then, as citizens of this fallen planet — and yet still God’s children — should our next move be? Should we be silent in the night? Should we accept that which is and always will be imperfect, civil government? As the Church cannot even end a scandal that is wracking it from one end to the other, should we accept that the Reign of Christ for 1,000 years is impossible because a hierarchy that hides pedophiles has said so? Should we accept the fact that Church has been separated from state by secular forces for all time, when, in reality, in Israel and the 1st Millennium of Christianity, Church and state were one? Or should we instead place our bets on a simple Truth that is NEVER tainted by scandal, whether religious or secular: WITH God all things possible! In this regard, when, then, will He institute His Reign on Earth? Should we not cry out with our voices? Must we not ask to receive, seek to find, knock for it to be opened? Matthew 7:7. Is not the lesson of Jerusalem enough for us who truly believe in God to cry out in one voice before our own blood or the blood of our loved ones is spilled in the ground? Are we not sick of seeing our soldiers spill their blood in foreign lands? We truly believe this is a lesson we in the Church, in the world, as any and all who call upon the Name of the Lord have NOT learned. In short: do we truly want His Reign? For if we do then we should cry out with one voice for Him to end civil government. And remember, this is essential: not in revolutionary arms as the “founding fathers” did to replace one bad system with another. But for God to make the move and replace that which is imperfect with that which is Perfect: HIM! Is it “unrealistic” then for us to get on our knees, not one day, not one week, not one year, but for as long as it takes until we move God to make a move! For our prayers will not go on deaf ears. As the Lord so eloquently stated after Matthew 7:7: “For every one that asketh, receiveth: and he that seeketh, findeth: and to him that knocketh, it shall be opened. Or what man is there among you, of whom if his son shall ask bread, will he reach him a stone? Or if he shall ask him a fish, will he reach him a serpent? If you then being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children: how much more will your Father who is in Heaven, give good things to them that ask Him?” Matthew 7:8-11. Herein, then, lies the dilemma. How many are asking for the Reign of God on Earth as it is in Heaven? And then, to truly pare it down, how many are asking for the return of Christ the King, the Anointed One, who has, through His redemptive Work on the Cross, won the RIGHT to rule over the nations? Instead, we chase after the pope and his latest trip, as if that will bring peace to the Earth. Or we chase after the next candidates the same old trite parties parade before us every four years, as if that will bring peace to the Earth. Or we chase after our own self-satisfaction, knowing we cannot bring peace to the Earth but desiring to bring peace within ourselves through personal pleasure. It all ends in failure. And it is designed to — just as civil governments were designed to fail from the moment Cain was “hidden from” the Lord’s Face! We can, as a people, continue to be “unrealistic” and await God’s moment, known only to Him; or we, as a people, can petition Him through heartfelt prayer to quicken His return and Reign. For as a God of Love and Mercy, did He not promise to shorten these days? We must have the faith that He will not give His children a “serpent” any longer if we but, en masse, ask Him to remove it — if not for our sinful sake, then for His own Glory and Honor! Our very wise friend than asked another critical question: “How do we reconcile the belief in Mary as the ‘Queen of Heaven’ with Jeremiah 44?” In Jeremias (Latin Vulgate spelling) 44, we see a condemnation of the people of Israel for “our vows which we have made, to offer sacrifice to the queen of heaven, and to pour out drink offerings to her” (verse 25) and, in verse 19, they speak of making “cakes to worship her.” Many times, we see protest-ants use these verses, and another that the Lord will not share His Glory with anyone, as scriptural “proof” that Mary is NOT to be honored as the “Queen of Heaven.” Since the information we have indicates that the person asking this question is a believer in Judaism, we must first point out a difficulty we will have in answering their inquiry. We believe in not only the Old Testament, but the New Testament as well. For there is a simple answer to the question, but one must accept that the New Testament is the authentic Word of God and the fulfillment of the Old Testament. But first we will grant that if this is not possible for this person to accept, we offer this approach: where does it say in Jeremias that these verses refer to Mary? Is it not dangerous for anyone to make an assumption that those verses refer to Mary? Since the people of the Old Testament had NO concept about Mary, it truly is a leap of faith to believe that the “queen” they are referring to is one and the same as the Woman Clothed With the Sun in the New Testament. A Woman who, as a Queen, has a Crown of 12 Stars around Her head! (And, as we have told a protest-ant who queried us as to why we upper-case pronouns in reference to Mary, it is, because like one would do as a subject of the queen of England, a sign of respect, NOT worship). Since Israel was well familiar with pagan deities and idols of Egypt and Babylon, might this “queen” Jeremias refers to be, instead, the false isis or astarthe? To make this Old Covenant correlation to the Mary of the New Testament is, we believe, akin to making the “golden calf” correlate to Jesus as the “Lamb of God.” There is, of course, no correlation between the golden calf and Jesus, just as there is no correlation between this false queen of heaven and Mary’s subsequent role as the true Queen. And for those who follow Judaism, this is critical: for it is not only Jesus that is being rejected as their King, but Mary as Israel’s Queen! How? We must remember that God promised David that He would establish his earthly king’s throne for ever. Since the New Testament takes great pains to establish Jesus’ lineage to the royal blood of the shepherd king, we must remember who was the last person to sit on David’s throne. And who was that person? It was David’s son Solomon, the wisest man who ever lived; who, by the way, despite his wisdom, established “worship” of a false “queen of heaven”! Perhaps, the same as the one Jeremias anonymously refers to? “But Solomon worshipped ashtarthe the goddess of the Sidonians … ” III Kings 11:5. (I Kings for those who use the wrong and abridged protest-ant Bible!) In any case, since the Scriptures are not explicit, not only do we have evidence that female deities were worshipped by Israel that have no correlation to Mary, but more importantly, the Scriptures are explicit as to who was the queen of Israel: out of 700 wives and 300 concubines, which one was Solomon’s queen? None of them! The woman who sat at the right hand of Solomon reigning as the queen over Israel was none other than his mother, Bathsabee! “Then Bathsabee came to king Solomon, to speak to him for Adonias: and the king AROSE to meet her, and BOWED to her, and sat down upon his throne: and a throne was set for the king’s mother, and she sat on his right hand” III Kings 2:19. This, again, becomes crucial when we believe that Jesus is the Person who is going to inherit the throne of David; the throne in which the last person to sit on it was a man by the name of Solomon, whose mother was the last legitimate queen of Israel! And we must NEVER forget that Jesus is not just True God, but True Man as well! That means, just as Solomon, Jesus feels the same respect toward His earthly Mother as our Lord does toward His heavenly Father! It is His Commandment to honor both father and mother! This perplexing scenario regarding David’s throne was among the great questions Christ Himself put to the Pharisees: “And the Pharisees being gathered together, Jesus asked them, saying: ‘What think you Christ? Whose Son is He?’ They say to Him: ‘David’s!’ He saith to them: ‘How then doth David in spirit call Him Lord, saying, “The Lord said to my Lord, sit on My Right Hand, until I make Thy enemies Thy footstool”? If David then call Him Lord, how is He his Son?’ And no man was able to answer Him a word; neither durst any man from that day forth ask Him any more questions” Matthew 22:41-46. This is the answer to the Lord’s question that stumped the Pharisees: for Christ is the Son of God the Father and the Son of Mary! True God and True Man! And, as True Man, when Yeshua comes again to Jerusalem and rule as Jewish Messiah for a Thousand Years, there will be a Woman who will fulfill the role of — as Jesus does of Solomon — Bathsabee! There is only One Candidate for that role. The Mother of the King of Israel, Miriam! The Woman who sits at Her Son the King’s Right Hand, as He does His Father’s: the Queen of not only Heaven, but as the Mother of Mercy, the true Queen of Israel! For it is Her eternal reward as the Mother of the Savior! And Miriam, as the One “who gave the Savior to the world” and is the true Queen of Heaven warned us, it is not the imminent coming of a “Eucharist King” or the dangers of “millenarianism” we need concern ourselves with as a Church, a people, a nation, or Israel itself, but of the “Second Coming of Him who will come, not as a merciful Savior, but as a Just Judge.” For the Fruit of Mary’s Womb once nailed to a Tree — who David in spirit called Lord — will Reign from His inheritance, Solomon’s throne, for 1,000 years as the Lord in Justice, against those who have rejected His Passion, quickly makes His enemies His footstool!
