a brilliant and vivid impression of My Divinity’
Consecration to the Holy Face of Jesus!
It is Shrove Tuesday. Shrove stems from an old English word which means “Confession.” It is the day the Lord specifically requested that we consecrate ourselves to His Holy Face. The Face we see today on the Shroud of Turin!
A day to confess our sins and, in cleanliness, become one with the Face of Christ!
This is critical as we are faced with so many other choices in life.
Many people ignore this request, as, instead, they celebrate “Mardi Gras”: French for “fat Tuesday,” the day before Ash Wednesday and the beginning of the sacrificial Lenten season. The people who celebrate Mardi Gras are lost in the Great Spiritual Battle as they do not understand that the original Latin meaning of “carnival” is “the removal of meat.”
In other words, a day in which we, in light of His tremendous Sacrifice, should begin to give sacrifices to the Lord!
Many people, instead, will be “partying” — some even stupid enough to don evil masks; masks that even portray the face of the evil one.
What a farce! How easily the evil one leads the world astray!
In reality, instead of the “party” scenario, today is a day to reflect on the requests of our Lord. Requests that have been approved by Popes Leo XIII and Pius XII. Requests the Lord has been officially making through His brides, Sister Marie Pierre and Mother Pierina, for more than 150 years!
As the world ignores these heavenly requests, we can make reparation for those who choose to think that life is “but a joke.” We can score major eternal-reward bonus points with our God and Savior if we do but what He asks.
But we can’t do this unless we are serious. For the promises of the Lord are serious. And the promises are not for just today, but for Eternity.
Therefore, we must take seriously the obligations that come with this consecration in order to truly receive the blessings promised.
In the 13th Century, the Lord told St. Gertrude, “All those who, attracted by My Love, and venerating My Countenance, shall receive, by virtue of My Humanity, a brilliant and vivid impression of My Divinity. This splendor shall enlighten the depths of their souls, so that in eternal glory the Celestial Court shall marvel at the marked likeness of their features with My Divine Countenance!”
We don’t know about anyone else, but we sure would like to be more conformed to the Image of God — and this consecration, according to the Lord Jesus Himself, certainly seems to be a way to do so! A way in which even the Celestial Court will be amazed! A likeness, indeed, that is not available to even the Angels!
With this consecration, however, comes responsibility. Responsibility to continue to honor the Holy Face of Christ and to defend His honor, especially when those who do not recognize Him attack His Holy Image on the Shroud.
If you are not serious about defending the Holy Face of Christ, this consecration is not for you.
And if you believe you are not capable of defending Him, neither are we! We are nobody special — only Jesus is. But don’t worry about your capabilities. This is where Heaven comes in. Just ask the Lord to have His Mother give you the necessary graces to ensure that you will NOT make a mistake in this regard in return for this great gift. Mistakes may be made before a temporal court on Earth, but with the blessings of Mary as the Mediatrix of All Graces, we can avoid making a mistake before the Heavenly Court!
If you are prepared for this, then first take a moment to contemplate the Holy Face of Christ before you begin the consecration prayer.
When you feel the returned Love of our Savior, you are ready to give Him the gift of consecrating yourself to His Holy Face — a gift that is so special, only those He draws to it can ever actually truly accomplish it.
And for those who do accomplish this simple, yet powerful consecration, may God and His Mother bless you for your love gift to Him!

Consecration Prayer
to the
Holy Face of Jesus
O Lord Jesus, we believe most firmly in You; we love you! You are the Eternal Son of God and the Son Incarnate of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
You are the Lord and Absolute Ruler of all creation. We acknowledge You, therefore, as the Universal Sovereign of all creatures.
You are the Lord and Supreme Ruler of all mankind, and we, in acknowledging this dominion, consecrate ourselves to You now and for ever.
Loving Jesus, we place our families under the protection of Your Holy Face, and of Your Virgin Mother, Mary most sorrowful.
We promise to be faithful to You for the rest of our lives and to observe with fidelity Your Holy Commandments.
We will never deny before others, You and Your Divine Rights over us and all humankind. Grant us the grace to never sin again; nevertheless, should we fail, O Divine Savior, have mercy on us and restore us to Your grace.
Radiate Your Divine Countenance upon us and bless us now and for ever.
Embrace us at the hour of death in Your Kingdom for all Eternity, through the intercession of Your Blessed Mother, of all Your Saints who behold You in Heaven, and the just who glorify You on Earth.
O Jesus, be mindful of us for ever and never forsake us; protect our families.
O Mother of Sorrows, by the eternal glory which You enjoy in Heaven, through the merits of Your bitter anguish in the Sacred Passion of Your Beloved Son, our Lord Jesus Christ, obtain for us the grace that the Precious Blood shed by Jesus for the redemption of our souls, be not shed for us in vain.
We love You, O Mary!
Embrace us and bless us, O Mother.
Protect us in life and in death. Amen.
Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost,
as it was in the beginning, is now, and will be for ever! Amen.
Admirable is the Name of the Lord!
Now that you are consecrated to the Holy Face of Christ, as we begin the Lenten season, try to do the Stations of the Cross, and as you complete each one, petition this great God of ours for one more blessing and favor:
O Jesus, King of All Nations, make Your Reign be recognized on Earth!
