| The Chaplet of the Holy Infant Jesus | |||||||||||
| The chaplet celebrates our Lord’s 12 years of hiddenness with His earthly parents. We pray all who invoke it not only ask for their own needs, but for the Reign of the Sacred Hearts on Earth as it is in Heaven! This devotion owes its origin to the zeal of Venerable Sister Marguerite of the Blessed Sacrament. She was a Carmelite, who died a holy death at Beaune, France on May 26th, 1648, at the age of 27. The Divine Infant revealed to His faithful servant how pleasing this holy practice is to Him. He promised her that He would grant a special grace, above all, purity of heart and innocence, to all who carried the chaplet on their person and recited it in honor of the mysteries of His Holy Infancy. As a sign of His approval, He showed her these chaplets shining with a supernatural light. To begin the chaplet, we suggest offering it up for whatever special intentions you may have, but particularly — to please the Holy Child — for the Triumph of His Mother’s Immaculate Heart in the world. Holding the Crucifix, pray the following invocation: “Divine Infant Jesus, I adore Your Cross, and I accept all the crosses You will send me. Adorable Trinity, I offer You for the glory of the Holy Name of God, all the adorations of the Scared Heart of the Holy Infant Jesus.” The chaplet is then recited as follows: Using the two beads and Crucifix below the joiner, pray the Lord’s Prayer three times in honor of the Holy Family. On the beads above the joiner, pray the Ave Maria 12 times in honor of the 12 years of our Divine Savior’s Infancy. Each Our Father is preceded by these words: “And the Word was made Flesh.” Before beginning the first Hail Mary, pray the words, “And the Word was made Flesh and dwelt among us.” On completing the 12 Ave Marias of the chaplet, recite the prayer: “Holy Infant Jesus, bless and protect us.” And may Agnus Dei and His Mother, along with St. Joseph, bless you and protect you, and always keep you safe in the Immaculate Heart of Mary! |
