Escape From Purgatory!
The Good News is this:  we can escape Purgatory — and we can help others do so as well.

It cannot, however, be done by our formula.  It can only be done by His.

The formula was given to the Lord's
Secretary of Divine Mercy, St. Faustina.  For those who may not be familiar with St. Faustina, she is the 3rd Millennium’s first Saint, canonized by John Paul II on April 30 in the Great Jubilee Year of Divine Mercy.

And how fitting her canonization occurred in the
Great Jubilee Year, since it is through St. Faustina that the Lord has given the world the greatest gift since His redemptive action on the Cross.  The gift is the Divine Mercy Feast instituted by John Paul II to be celebrated throughout the Universal Church on the first Sunday after Easter.

The Sunday after Easter — now dedicated to the Lord’s
Divine Mercy — is the same day, when almost 2,000 years ago, “Doubting Thomas” was in the Upper Room with the other 10 Apostles when the Resurrected Christ appeared to His disciples again.  Thomas, who was not there on the first Easter Sunday and doubted the Resurrection of Christ, heard these words from our Lord and Savior:  “Bring here thy finger, and see my hands; and bring here thy hand, and put it into my side; and be not unbelieving, but believing!” John 20:27.

It is the same side in which Jesus’ Blood and Water gushed forth from His Heart as a
Fountain of Mercy for us!

And now, this year, the Sunday after Easter, we can bring our family, friends and souls to the
Divine Mercy Feast!  All our sins and the punishment due to them can and will be forgiven.

In order to be eligible for this great gift, one must first go to Confession, receive Holy Communion and venerate the
Divine Mercy Image.

To do so, hopefully, no matter where you live, there should be a
Divine Mercy Feast in your area.  Indeed, every parish should be celebrating this great feast.  If your priest is unfamiliar with it, contact your local diocese and ask where the feast is scheduled to be held this year — and if not, why not.

“Oh, how miserable are those who do not take advantage of the miracle of God’s mercy! You will call out in vain but it will be too late.” (Diary 1488)

“Tell sinners that I am always waiting for them, that I listen intently to the beating of their heart... when will it beat for Me? Write, that I am speaking to them through their remorse of conscience, through their failures and sufferings, through thunderstorms, through the voice of the Church. And, if they bring all My graces to naught, I begin to be angry with them, leaving them alone and giving them what they want.” (Diary 1728)

“I am Thrice Holy, and I detest the smallest sin. I cannot love a soul which is stained with sin; but when it repents, there is no limit to My generosity toward it.” (Diary 1728)
