Agnus Dei Presents!
This is the image of Mary that greets visitors to the new cathedral in Los Angeles.  Sorry, but that's not our Queen of Heaven and Earth.  She looks more like a character out of
Star Trek than the Mother of our Savior! Most importantly, note the pyramid shape over the area of the heart.  Pyramids are a favorite symbol of masons!  Just a moment; we're trying to recall Mary's words from Fatima and we remember
She said that God wanted to establish devotion to a
pyramid over Her Heart?!!!

No, God said He wanted to establish devotion to Mary's
Immaculate Heart, a Heart enflamed with love for us!  Every one else can play the game, but we don't believe anyone, cardinal or otherwise, who truly loves Mary or believes in Her messages would permit such an image as this one in,
of all places, a cathedral!

Wonder what Jesus thinks of
this image of His Mother?
Mahony and Brown are two of the most powerful personas in the Church.

Yet, both — who are longtime friends and, from what people
“in the know” tell us, college buddies — as the media reported, shared the cost to pay $5.2 million in “hush” money to a victim in the pedophile scandal who was threatening to “tell all” if his case went to trial.  The case involved the ex-bishop of Stockton, California, who, from what reports have indicated, was once a roommate of Mahony’s.

Just last year, Mahony completed what many have called a “monument to himself” with his new cathedral in L.A.  The cathedral,
Our Lady of the Angels (what happened to the word “Queen”?) was built at a cost of $190 million and sits on “Temple” street in downtown L.A., in the shadow of the masonic city hall — that famous building everyone can see on any TV show that is really capped by a pyramid at the top.

Now, Todd Brown, after spending $7 million to cover costs in the sex abuse scandal,  is building his new cathedral in Orange County, one of the richest counties in California.  He is doing it in the shadow of South Coast Plaza, the economic heart of the area.  This plaza, for those who may not know, is the No. 1 money-making mall in America.  Across from the plaza is the Orange County Performing Arts Center, which boasts a sculpture known as the
“Firebird,” which is nothing more than a phoenix.  The phoenix in masonry is their false symbol of “resurrection.”

While these symbolic references may mean nothing to most people, we, as students of masonry, find it odd that two of the most prominent Church men —
who conspired together to keep a sex scandal from going to public trial — should choose to place their seats of power within the shadows of the masonic, economic and political power of their dioceses.  And all is not well as news reports grow that legal matters will not get better, despite the apparent suicide of an accused priest.

In fact, we will let you all play a guessing game:
one of these two Southern California ‘spiritual’ leaders was recently chastised by the Vatican for causing a public scene by verbally abusing a believer who dared to bend their knees before receiving the consecrated Body of Christ in the Eucharist! What a crime that a Communicant would want to receive our Lord and Savior in a position of worship!

We wonder where these two have such deep pockets that they can pay
“hush” money to victims of their inadequate stewardship and still build monumental cathedrals to themselves?

Is this what Mary meant by
“ecclesiastical masonry”?

Just asking.

Oh, and a few other questions.

What shenanigans will these two bring to the Church next in the
Great Spiritual Battle?  How much longer will we, as believers, have to tolerate their abuse of power?  Is anybody in the Vatican paying any attention to their nonsense? Does the Vatican really think a slap on the wrist was the only appropriate action in regard to chastising a member of the hierarchy for an out-of-hand verbal abuse of a Communicant publicly? Are the people — so many of whom are afraid to speak out — the only ones who recognize their extravagances?

Does the meaning of
“ecclesiastical masonry” translate into inaction on the part of the faithful and that we must be silent in the face of scandal and abuse?

Or will we one day see these two slip into this oblivion
?
