| ‘Sweet Heart of … ’ Are We Waiting for Mary’s ‘No’? “Sweet Heart of Jesus, be my love!” Indulgence of 300 days, once a day. Leo XIII, May 21, 1892 “Sweet Heart of Mary, be my salvation!” Indulgence of 300 days, each time. Pius IX, September 30, 1852 |

| We remember when we first began returning home (decades ago!) to our Lord and His Mother. It was hard. Were statues and icons really okay? Was the Rosary really not “vain and repetitious”? (Of course not! It is not “vain” because the focus is not on the individual praying but on Jesus and Mary; and it is not “repetitious” because every prayer is used by our God and His Queen to shed graces on those who do NOT pray, as well as for the souls in Purgatory! Here is a “vain and repetitious” prayer: “First day: ‘Lord, that car is on sale and I would really like to own it’; second day: ‘Lord, this sale isn’t going to last forever!’ ”) Once we overcame — through the graces of our Queen, thank God! — our protest-ant mentality imbedded in our minds through insidious propaganda, we were not only able to embrace the Rosary, but comprehend that without the Sacraments we, as individuals, can wind up spending a long time in Purgatory, if not worse! Then, we stumbled across the prayer imploring the Heart of Mary to “be our salvation.” Surely, this one had gone too far! Surely, this proved the protest-ant claim that Catholics have replaced Jesus with Mary! WRONG! In fact, this is probably the most important prayer of our time! And in that regard, no wonder there is so much “propaganda” against our Queen! Not only “propaganda,” but a total lack of comprehension as to the meaning of words! We now live in a society where the superficial meaning of a word is all that most people can focus on. After all, isn’t that what a “sound bite” is all about? But the spiritual world is not about “sound bites.” It is about a battle. The battle between the Woman and the serpent. “The Woman Clothed With the Sun” and the “great red dragon” (Apocalypse 12). In its definition, “salvation” is “to save,” from the Latin for “safe.” It involves the “preservation or deliverance from danger, evil or difficulty.” Also “a source, means or cause of such salvation.” But the standard thought we have when it comes to this word “salvation” is this definition: “deliverance from the power or penalty of sin.” In that definition, there is only One who fits the bill: our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ! However, in the previous statements, it is NOT just Jesus who can fulfill the terms of our “salvation.” Cannot Mary, as our Mediatrix, preserve us from danger? Can She not, as the Queen of Angels, deliver us from evil? As our Advocate, is She not capable of keeping us safe from any difficulties? Indeed, as the Mother of our Savior — the Co-Redemptrix — is She not the “cause” (the “person responsible for an action”) for our “salvation” by Her Son? Was this “cause” not all so well summed up in Mary’s “fiat”? Many believers are familiar with this concept of Her “fiat”: it is Mary’s “yes”! “Behold, the Handmaid of the Lord! Be it done to Me according to thy word!” Mary said to the Archangel Gabriel in Her famous “Magnificat” (Luke 1:38). With Her “yes” to God, Mary became the cause of our joy: Her Son Jesus! Now, we as believers, have to take Mary’s “fiat” one step further. For it is not, in the Great Spiritual Battle, an “accident” or “coincidence” that Pius IX gave such an incredible indulgence to repeat the prayer “Sweet Heart of Mary, be my salvation” EACH TIME it is spoken! While it may seem like such a forgotten period of time for us, we must remember that Pius IX is the pope who will pronounce the dogma of the Immaculate Conception: the “singular privilege by which the Blessed Virgin Mary, in view of the future merits of Her Divine Son, Jesus Christ, was conceived free from Original Sin in the womb of Her mother, Saint Anne”! With the pronouncement of this dogma, it was, we believe, the beginning of the end in the battle between the Woman Clothed With the Sun and the great red dragon! For now is come the Omega of mankind’s “salvation”! “And when the dragon saw that he was cast unto the Earth, he persecuted the Woman who brought forth the Male Child. … And the serpent cast out of his mouth after the Woman, water as it were a river; that he might cause Her to be carried away by the river. … And the dragon was angry against the Woman: and went to make war with the rest of Her seed, who keep the Commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ” Apocalypse 12:13, 15, 17. We have spoken of this before: these verses clearly teach anyone who can comprehend language that there is only ONE Woman who brought forth the “Male Child” “who was to rule all nations with an iron rod”! Apocalypse 12:5. It is NOT the Church; it is NOT Israel; it is not the “mystical” Body of Believers. It IS Mary! And Mary has told us through Her messages to Father Gobbi (of the Marian Movement of Priests) what the “water as it were a river” is that symbolically the “serpent cast out of his mouth after the Woman”: it is PROPAGANDA against our Queen and Her VITAL role in the SALVATION of mankind! And who is the dragon making “war” with? “ … the rest of Her seed, who keep the Commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ”! Does Israel have the “testimony of Jesus Christ”? Obviously not! Then where can the “rest of Her seed” be found? In a protest-ant/pentecostal hoopin’ and-a hollerin’ “speakin’-in-tongues” service? The answer is the Catholic Church — the only place where the dogma of the Immaculate Conception is upheld by those who truly believe, for “this doctrine,” said Pius IX, “was revealed by God, and therefore, must be believed firmly and constantly by all the faithful”! And what “propaganda” does the evil one “cast out of his mouth after the Woman”? That there is NO salvation through Mary! This is the ultimate lie of the serpent against the “testimony of Jesus Christ” in our Lord’s dying Will and Last Testament from His Cross: “Woman behold Thy son.” And to those who desire to be His “Beloved Disciples”: “Behold thy Mother!” John 19:26-27. Is it not a fact that the Beloved Disciple was the only one NOT martyred horrifically for his faith in Christ? In this, Mary showed how She can provide salvation to those who take “Her to his own” (John 19:27) — both in their homes and hearts as the “Beloved Disciple” did! Is this not borne out in the fact that the Apostle John, as Sacred Tradition teaches, received the gift of “preservation or deliverance from danger, evil or difficulty” when he was put into a vat of boiling oil by the Roman emperor as they tried to force him to renounce his faith in Christ? An event that, after he survives, will lead to the Beloved Disciple’s exile on the island of Patmos where he will then receive the vision: “And a great sign appeared in Heaven: a Woman Clothed With the Sun … !” The same symbolic reference he was inspired to give to Mary as the “Woman” in his Gospel! (see John 2:4, the wedding at Cana, when our Lord, at His Mother’s request, performs His first public miracle, as well as our earlier discussion above on Chapter 19 at the Foot of the Cross!) And so Catholics, as “modern-day” “ecumenical” believers, shudder at the words: “Sweet Heart of Mary, be my salvation!” If this statement is not correct, then please inform us how many of us are saying this prayer with an indulgence of 300 days EACH TIME it is spoken?! (Even if we may not need the indulgence, our Queen, as the Mediatrix of ALL Graces, can apply it to souls in Purgatory!) How many priests, bishops or others are teaching us and our children to repeat this simple phrase? How afraid are we, as Catholics, to “offend” other so-called “Christian” denominations with our MILITANT recitation of this invocation?! Then, in this “fear,” how can we expect to be part of the end to the serpent’s “war with the rest of Her seed, who keep the Commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ”? We can’t. Unless we pray for something more than just a vain and repetitious request of our own personal salvation: personal prayers that our God and Queen hear consistently day in and day out for our own needs as human beings! (And please do not think we are suggesting not to pray for one’s needs; but we are suggesting we MUST pray for Mary’s needs at the same time, if not more!) No it is impossible to win; we can’t win, unless we stop getting so excited about the re-opening of a copper idol “which you made to adore” (Acts of the Apostles 7:43) that “neither can see, nor hear, nor walk (Apocalypse 9:20). And so we pray. We pray to Mary as She is called in Vatican II (so many times we hear of this council, yet never do we hear of these titles bestowed on our Queen under the section entitled, “The Church, 62”) We call upon Mary not only as our “Advocate,” but as our “Auxiliatrix” and “Adjutrix”! Titles which are easily defined. As our “Auxiliatrix,” Mary is “capable of giving assistance or support,” even “acting as a subsidiary” where She has been “held in or used in reserve” by God! As our “Adjutrix,” She is Her Son’s “deputy,” an “officer who assists a commanding officer”; a “confederate” [a “united” “ally”]! And as Vatican II stated, these titles “are to be understood that they take nothing away from nor add anything to the dignity and efficacy of Christ the one Mediator.” But they have a power! A power before God and His Mother! A power we have NOT been invoking. For as our Auxiliatrix and Adjutrix, Mary wields, at the pleasure of God, the Power of Heaven! As Her Son holds the Key to the Eternal Father, She holds the Key to Her Son! (“Everything that the Son asks of the Father is granted. Likewise, everything that the Mother asks of the Son is also granted.” — St. John Vianney) With these Keys, we pray in this article that as one of our readers — Kathy from Texas — suggested to us in an e-mail last week, that our Queen NOT tolerate anymore abuse against Her! That God NOT continue to allow Her to wait any longer for Her inevitable victory over Her enemy! As Her Son’s “deputy,” may we ask Her, as Her children, trusting in Her “salvation,” to no longer wait, and implore our Queen to say, “NO!” In the Omega act of salvation — that began with the Alpha of Her “yes” — may our Advocate, Mediatrix, Auxiliatrix, Adjutrix, and Co-Redemptrix now turn to Her Father, Her Son and Her Spouse and say, “NO!” (For “when Mary asks for graces from God, She does not ask but, so to speak, commands. For Her Son honors Her by refusing Her nothing.” — St. Peter Damian, declared a Doctor of the Church, 1828.) As the Queen of Peace: “NO MORE WARS!” As the Queen of Iraq: “NO MORE TERRORISM!” As the Queen of the Church: “NO MORE SCANDALS!” As the Queen of Israel: “NO MORE REJECTION of HER SON!” As the Mother of All the Living: “NO MORE LOST SOULS!” As the Mother of God: “NO MORE ABORTIONS!” As the Woman Clothed With the Sun: “NO MORE evil!” As Our Lady of Mount Carmel: “NO MORE WEEDS in GOD’S GARDEN!” As the Queen Who Sits at the King’s Right Hand: “NO MORE VICARS, PRESIDENTS, PRIME MINISTERS or SECRETARY GENERALS RULING in YOUR PLACE!” We ask this not because we deserve it, but because She deserves it! Not because we have these rights; we have none. She has ALL the rights! She earned them when, as the Immaculate Conception, She took on the Sorrows of the world as She watched Her Son redeem mankind — in His ultimate act of Salvation — at the Foot of the Cross! And so we beg our Queen, accept our prayers not on our vain or repetitious behalf, but on your behalf as the Queen of Salvation! The Queen of Glory! The Glory of Your Father, Your Son, and Your Spouse! In that regard, we pray to You as our Queen, do not let Your Son just “be my love.” We ask instead: “Sweet Heart of Jesus, be the WORLD’s love!” And there is only one way for that to happen. In this we ask all to join in this prayer in every Rosary, every Divine Mercy Chaplet at this critical juncture of mankind’s history. A history in which we plead with Mary “to save” mankind, make it “safe” and “preserve and deliver us from danger, evil and the difficulties” of this world! For You, Mary, are the “source, means and cause of our salvation.” You are God’s Auxiliatrix! Therefore, we militantly cry out to You: “Sweet Heart of Mary, be the WORLD’s salvation!” © 2004 Agnus Dei Presents! Feast of Our Lady of the Snows Happy Birthday to our Queen! May the Most Holy Trinity grant You soon the best birthday Gift of all: the Triumph of Your Immaculate Heart! |
