The above quotes are only two verses of the New Testament.
Almost to the year, four centuries separate their publication.
The first is based on the original translation of St. Jerome in the 4th Century at the request of the pope and is, till today, the OFFICIAL Bible of the Catholic Church.
The second is from a highly “respected” organization for its “scholarship” and biblical studies and is a protest-ant version of the Scriptures that traces its roots back to the bisexual ruler (and yes, Virginia, he was gay!) known as England’s King James I (his “lover” was the duke of Buckingham; anyone who does not believe this, look up his biographical information in the Encyclopedia Britannica).
Simply put, for us as believers, one version of the Scriptures, the first, is from an anointed “holy one” and the other is from a “corporation.”
We hope this helps those who are reading this article as to which version one should think one should choose as to whether or not it is inspired by the Holy Spirit!
Since St. Jerome died in poverty after living a holy life as a hermit in Bethlehem with many miracles attributed to him, we simply ask who in the Zondervan Corporation can say the same?
We would also inquire as to how much $$$ Zondervan has made selling Bibles vs.
St. Jerome!
One last thought, as it is a historical fact that St. Jerome chose celibacy, did it help or hinder his insight to translate as the Holy Spirit commanded and instructed?
Will the celibate individuals from Zondervan or the New York International Bible Society please step forward?!
In the first quote from the Latin Vulgate, we find in the last verse that the focus is, of course — to anyone who has any reading comprehension level at all — the Mother of Jesus. She is central to the sentence: “and Thy own Soul a Sword shall pierce, that, out of many hearts, thoughts may be revealed.”
Why, according to the Scriptures, will a Sword of Sorrow pierce the Heart of Mary? Simply put, it is for the purpose that “out of many hearts, thoughts may be revealed.”
In other words, what we harbor secretly about Mary in our own personal heart — the center of our soul — God will ascertain as His Spirit pierces our own!
Would it then be, if one felt NOTHING for the Sword that pierces Mary’s Heart, a pleasing attribute to God? Does it please God to ignore the Woman whom Jesus watched as He died upon the Cross — a death He suffered for any human being?
There is, however, another alternative.
It is presented in the second quoted verses.
In the protest-ant version the focus is NO LONGER ON MARY!
Instead, the focus has dramatically shifted back to the Holy Child, as Simeon (which in Hebrew means “to hear”), under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit utters his incredible prophecy.
According to protest-ant Scripture — the earliest of which does not rear its ugly head until the 16th Century — it is only through the Child “that the thoughts of many hearts will be revealed.”
This, again, for anyone with even the simplest of reading comprehension levels, is a MAJOR difference.
One, the focus is on Mary.
The other, the focus is on Jesus.
Surely, both cannot be right.
Who, like Simeon, was correct in their “hearing”?
St. Jerome,
or the New York International Bible Society (followed by the Zondervan Corporation)?
As believers, we know the Lord cannot speak falsehoods, nor mislead the faithful.
He can’t be duplicitous.
He can’t have two Truths that are not the same or Words that cancel one another out.
What, then, could possibly be the answer?
Obviously, if we truly believe in the Power of the Holy Spirit, it is IMPOSSIBLE
to accept the fact that He could have made a mistake and then NOT correct it for
1,500 years!
The first difficulty to overcome in this scenario is to believe that if someone wished to claim it was NOT the Holy Spirit, but St. Jerome who made the error, then we must ask why did the Spirit of Truth allow 1,500 years for Christianity to believe this mistake?
That, in itself, would violate the simple Truth that the Lord cannot mislead the faithful.
(Indeed, didn’t the Lord warns us that false prophets would come at the end and before His Coming rather than at the beginning? Who came first? St. Jerome or protest-ant “scholarship”?)
There can be, then, only one answer: in the humanistic revolt against the Truths of God, MEN made the errors and have been misleading the Lord’s faithful since the “reformation.”
Men who call themselves “protest-ants.”
Men, and now today, women, who constantly revise the Word of God to suit their political, doctrinal or whatever beliefs.
For they are not only protesting against Jesus in the Eucharist, Mary as their Queen, the pope as their leader, and the deposit of faith in Catholicism, THEY ARE ALSO PROTESTING AGAINST THE VERY WORD THEY CLAIM TO BELIEVE IN!
Then they have the hypocritical audacity to say if it’s not in Scripture they won’t believe it, or where does it say that in Scripture?!
The verses we have quoted are but one example of this simple Truth: when the Scriptures clearly define Mary’s role, the protest-ant will have nothing to do with it! Instead, they will actually CHANGE the Word of God!
There are many reasons why the Sword of Sorrow pierces Mary’s Heart.
But none more profound than to rewrite Her role out of Scripture!
To call Her “our sister,” instead of “our Mother.”
To deny that She is the Woman Clothed With the Sun.
To claim Her messages or visions of Her are nothing more than a deception.
These pierce Mary’s Heart deeper than even the Sword that pierced Her Son’s Heart when She watched the centurion thrust his lance through Christ.
How can we dare say that?
In the great sorrow of that moment, Mary knew that the Blood and Water gushing forth from Her Son’s Heart was a Fountain of Mercy for us.
But in the piercing of Mary’s Heart by those who have the audacity to change the Word of God, our Queen knows it can only result, not in Mercy, but in Judgment.
On the 13th of May, June, July, September, and October in 1917, Mary appeared to warn us all.
Still She is ignored.
While there are those who remember the Miracle of the Sun in October, many forget the miracle of September.
On the 13th, appearing as She had promised, She gave a sign before 30,000 people reciting the Rosary.
As the hour struck noon, the sun, in anticipation of October, grew not bright, but dim. The sky turned a dull gold.
Instead of the three visionaries crying out at Her coming, the crowd stood in awe pointing, “There She is … over there … look … She’s coming … .”
A bright object appeared in the clear sky: a luminous globe that soon enveloped the oak tree where the children were. It was then that Lucia began to speak to the Madonna. At that moment, a miracle occurred: white roses from Heaven showered the crowd, dissolving before hitting the ground.
The then-young Lucia asked the Queen of Heaven and Earth if She would perform a miracle as promised on October 13th. Mary told her that it would be so and that the Holy Child, as well as St. Joseph, would accompany Her on that day.
But when Lucia asked the Mother of God if She would cure the sick who would come to the grotto wanting a miracle that day, the Madonna replied: “I will cure some of them, but not all, BECAUSE THE LORD HAS NO CONFIDENCE IN THEM!”
No confidence.
Because, as God, He searches our hearts.
And He best ascertains what is in our hearts when we contemplate His Mother.
Yes, we can give lip service to Jesus and tell Him that we “love” Him.
We can tell Him that we are grateful for His Cross, Precious Blood and the forgiveness of our sins.
And indeed, we are! For He IS God!
But unless we can tell Him that we love His Mother and desire for Him to remove Her Sword of Sorrow, our hearts are far from His!
For His Heart beats in unison with Mary’s!
From the moment the Holy Spirit infused the Incarnate Word into the Immaculata, Mother and Child cannot be separated!
We have taken many of Mary’s rights away from Her and pierced Her Heart even deeper.
We wounded Her deeply when we removed Her Son from the first two Sanctuaries in America named after Her Immaculate Conception in Texas and California.
Both are now not Churches, but museums!
We have, instead of maintaining that which is Mary’s, chased after the black gold of Texas and the fool’s gold of the Golden State.
There are 6-billion-plus souls in the world.
We venture to guess there are 6 billion swords piercing the Immaculate Heart of Mercy — a Heart that wishes nothing more than to be a Mother to all.
And there is a simple reason for this desire of Mary’s: it is to ensure Her Son’s Hand of Justice does not fall on us; but, rather, His Hand of Mercy.
Many have rejected Her; many have cast a disparaging look Her way.
She cannot stem the Hand of Justice that falls upon them.
It is, for Her, an even deeper sorrow than we can imagine as She knows their Judgment is a reality they will never escape from.
In this sadness, we cannot pull 6 billion swords from the Heart of our Queen.
Only He can.
The question for all of us — as we ignore, whether as a Church, a nation, a people, a world, the Feasts of the Holy Cross, the Holy Name of Mary, the anniversary of Fatima, or Our Lady of Sorrows — how many willing souls will ask Him to remove the Sword of Mary’s Sorrows?
Or shall we just accept more diabolical and subtle attacks of the anti-Marys as they rewrite Scripture.
