"And when He had opened the Fifth Seal, I saw under the Altar the souls of them that were slain for the Word of God, and for the testimony which they held.
"And they cried with a loud voice saying: 'How long, O Lord (holy and true) dost Thou not judge and revenge our blood on them that dwell on the Earth?'
"And white robes were given to every one of them; and it was said to them, that they should rest for a little time, till their fellow servants, and their brethren, who are to be slain, even as they, should be filled up"
Apocalypse 6:9-11.
If anything could be said about the year 2010, it certainly was a time of Christian martyrdom. From the Middle East to Asia and Africa, the blood of believers was spilled in ever-increasing quantities. And in Europe and the rest of the West, if it was not blood, then it was the martyrdom of witnesses against the evil, godless, secular, and increasingly atheistic/scientific world of materialism and pop culture. The Culture of Death surrounded believers everywhere.
Nowhere was it more apparent than in the Cathedral of Our Lady of Salvation in Baghdad where Catholics found themselves attending Christmas Mass with the blood and flesh of the martyrs still embedded in the ceiling of the Church.
In the Alpha of the early Church, the faithful prayed among the relics of the martyrs. In the Omega of the Church today, the faithful unwittingly return to their root.
The world can pretend that it is not so. But the facts speak otherwise.
Is it, then, a "coincidence" that after the celebration of the birth of Christ our King, the very next day is the Feast of the first martyr, St. Stephen?
Is it, then, a "coincidence" that the persecutors of all Christians are endemic to those who follow islam?
Or is the world at a critical juncture. A juncture of choice?
"And I say to you, My friends: Be not afraid of them who kill the body, and after that have no more that they can do"
Luke 12:4.
Our bodies or our souls? That is the choice. Today, the world chooses the body and many choose to kill any body. Believing they are doing a "service" for God.
But it is not the true God they are serving. It is the false god: the fallen angel; the devil.
And as the blood of the martyrs continues to cry out for the Judgment of the True God, the world will move soon, perhaps in the New Year or the next from the Fifth to the next seal:
"And I saw, when He had opened the Sixth Seal, and behold there was a great earthquake, and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair: and the whole moon became as blood"
Apocalypse 6:12.
Many times, when we give presentations on the authenticity of the Shroud of Turin, people ask where do we think we are on God's "timetable." We are reminded of Sister Lucia's 1980's statement to read Chapter 8 and Chapter 12 of the Book of Apocalypse.
Chapter 8, where the star "Wormwood" explodes. Chapter 12 where Mary, as Our Lady of the Rosary, Our Lady of Fatima, appears as the Woman Clothed With the Sun.
Chapter 18 where the "plagues come in one day, death, and mourning" as Babylon's "queen" (the masonic madonna) awoke to find "in one hour is thy judgment come."
We have, through the fulfillment of many of its chapters, come to understand that the Book of Apocalypse is not to be read as one event culminating in the next. It is, we believe, an overview of many events, some following another, others occurring before or after.
Time as we know it, in the Book of Apocalypse, is, as with God, beyond the comprehension of human wisdom.
Therefore, whether chapter 12 follows succinctly after 8 (as Sister Lucy indicated both having enormous significance for our time) or chapter 17 follows chapter 16 in human events does not matter. For all will be fulfilled in God's Wisdom and in God's Time.
What is important is we are seeing the fulfillment of Christ's prophetic Words in regard to these times. Perhaps the most significant and obvious prophecy, when one comprehends that there are 6.9 billion people in the world today, is the simplest of questions He asked:
"But yet the Son of Man, when He cometh, shall He find, think you, faith on the Earth?"
Luke 18:8.
Will He?
The days are coming, we believe, when only martyrs will answer His question.
Neda Agha-Soltan
Neda became an unwitting martyr in 2009 when she was murdered in the aftermath of the rigged Iranian election.
What struck us is not only how quickly most of the world has forgotten her brutal murder, but it is also her uncanny resemblance to a different witness of the faith.
Is it a "coincidence" that Neda should look so strinkingly similar to Mother Eugenia?
As our home page delineates, Mother Eugenia is the nun whom God the Father used as His messenger to implore mankind in these final days to seek His Mercy.
Was the evil death of Neda, whose very name means "divine message," not a "coincidence," but the hand of the devil, once again using islam to mock, in the Great Spiritual Battle before a questioning world, the most unfathomable attribute of our Father, the very Mercy of God?
